AMA, I dig you.  I can't lie.  I am not a fan of airports, but you make the grade.

Why?  Well, you are no frills.  What you see is what you get.  Short line, from check in to the actual terminal, and you do not dress yourself up to be something you aren't.

I love how I can see Osprey's taking off, an occasional GV 1 (for those of you not in the know, a GV 1 is also known as the C130 Hercules), and an occasional Hornet (F/A-18).

Your TSA agents, for the most part, are polite and the chairs are comfy, and let us not forget your free wifi.

What makes me like you the most is the fact that you are a patriotic airport.  There are many American flags as well as flags of the various military branches.  Have to respect an area that shows its patriotism.

it's small, convenient, Amarillo Airport parking is a cinch and security takes like 5 minutes. It's practically always deserted, and flight times are reliable -- 5 am to 11 pm. With extremely limited shops, bars and restaurants (one of each, right?) you know what you are going to get. Ther aren't many AMA aiport hotels, but there's a couple.The sheer economy of space and minimalist efficiency of the place reminds me of the domestic terminal at Osaka, just with fewer Hello Kitty items for sale.

The only drawback? You can't get anywhere unless you stop in Dallas or Houston first. You can't even fly directly to Austin from here, last I checked. Anybody know how this qualifies as an international airport? I've always wondered. When you don't live in Amarillo, stopping at this airport just means a little more cash for that last bit on the puddle-jumper.
