If you are flying into DC, or have business in DC, this is your place. Avoid the suburban Virginia-hell of Dulles (and the non-existent options to get downtown), and fly right into Reagan. With a 10-15 minute Metro ride, you can be anywhere of importance in DC. Be forewarned that Terminal 1 is a hellish experience reserved for flyers of airlines not used by the senators: Southwest, Jetblue, Air Canada.  Old, inconvenient Ronald Reagan Washington Airport parking, few amenities, cramped, 1 (yes 1) rack to rent carts, limited seating..think of it as an old bus terminal used by airplanes.

The other terminals (2-4) used by our own royalty, the senate, are beautiful with convenient parking, stores, restaurants, short walks to the gates, plenty of new seating, nice views, Metro close at hand, a modern convenient airport. There are, of course, Washington D.C. Airports galore, each one more deluxe thean the one before it.
There are food options both before and after security, which I find refreshing: most airports only have food after (not that I used the "before" aspect, but it's useful if you have a layover and are meeting someone for business, etc).

With it being DC, I was petrified what early Monday morning security lines might bring. And it brought...nothing. Tiny lines, easy process. 10 minutes to get through at 6am. Free wifi. Is this the best airport out there? Around here, it is.
