Okay, because DSM is small, there is quick check-in and the security lines are pretty fast, too. The airport is clean, especially the bathrooms, but its not exactly attractive and there's no free wifi. The DesMoines International airport parking is affordable for both long and short term parking, and its always a plus when no one comes up to you at the passenger/loading zone and says "you can't park here". There are also very few delayed flights, the baggage claim is not a nightmare, but its not terrific either, considering how few people there are. The staff are very nice, too, and that's a standout thing.

Here's what really rocks about DSM; they give you little paper shoes to wear after you've been molested by security. Hey, no germs and no runs in my stockings. The bathrooms, however, are a real treat. Everything is infrared touch free operation, and there are automatic plastic toilet seat cover changers. Who wouldn't be impressed with that? If you're not impressed with that, or with the fact that it is more expensive to fly in and out here than at other airports with cheap flight tickets within driving distance, than maybe DSM International just isn't for you.
