This small-town airport is really quaint and convenient. Easier to navigate than Buffalo or Pittsburgh's airports.
Be careful though - the T.S.A. at this airport must be bored with their jobs because its repeatedly the toughest T.S.A. screening that I go through in the country!! Don't even joke about having water in your bottle. Ticket prices tend to be a bit higher at this itty bitty airport than at the bigger airports within a 2-hour or so radius (i.e., Buffalo, Cleveland, Pittsburgh).

The rental car companies are all located right inside of the terminal - as soon as you exit from the gates. No waiting or vans to catch!Tom Ridge Field has a whopping 7 gates total, and it's only "international" because Canada is a stone's  throw away.  Airlines include Continental, Delta, and US Air...and that's it!  All planes are boarded via staircase, by the way, like in the olden days.

Looking for lavish amenities?  Fine dining?  You won't find them here.  But its clean, convenient to Erie, and there are plenty of mom-and -pop Erie  International hotels nearby; just really small.

Easy access and tons of inexpensive Erie International Airport Parking.  On-site rental vehicle companies include Avis, Enterprise, Hertz, and National.

You do have to walk outside and walk up into the plane.  I think there was like five ppl total working there.  The TSA line was totally empty.  I think I could gotten here five min before my flight and still make it on time
