For a small city airport ELP is actually remarkably good, its about 95% Southwest, but it still has plenty of direct flights to some places one would want to go, but - international? as soon as I stop laughing, I'll tell you that international is just code word for Mexico, so don't expect any flights going anywhere else like Europe.

I love smaller airports like this one.  I've flown to and from here many times over the past few years to conduct business in El Paso and just across the state line in New Mexico.

I've always flown Southwest Airlines in and out of here.  The flights arrive and depart on time. The employees are friendly and helpful.  Not a far walk to collect your luggage once you've landed.  The rental car companies are 50 feet from the luggage area. The El Paso International Airport parking is nearby and not too expensive, and there are many ELP airport hotels just as nearby.

When departing from here, you can show up an hour prior to your flight departure and always have enough time to check your luggage and get through security.  You may want to show up 90 min before departure, if it's your first time. I just hate backscatter radiation machines, however. And  airports that  force me to walk through them.

There's a bar on each side of security.  You can roam around the entire terminal with a drink, so you can bring yor uncle old drunky skunky and keep him happy too, there just  aren't many options to grab a bite.

Having used this airport 20 or so times with no problems, I'd highly recommend it for " just get me in and get me out."  It could be remodeled, as it looks very old; vintage 70's, plus lots of  mexican themed  papier mache.
