This airport is so legit when compared to DFW International.  At DFW there is always a wait at the airport, its super complex, congested and not fun to maneuver.  And the construction close to the airport is a huge turn off.  If you miss one turn, you're basically screwed.

With the Dallas Love Field Airport, it's easy access in and out.  There is some construction going on, but it's minimal and easy to navigate through.  All of the airport workers are extremely friendly and helpful.  I also enjoy this airport because it is a Southwest Hub and I am slowly becoming a huge fan of Southwest. First and foremost, this is the hub for Southwest Airlines and in my experience this means that airline employees and TSA agents range between friendly and okay(instead of mean and uninformed).  Thanks to the antics and theatricality of Southwest I have seen passengers being serenaded, posing for pictures with Santa, and playing trivia for prizes.  And I have had TSA agents remind me to dispose of my water rather than take away my beloved water bottle.  In other words, the service here is humane and helpful.

Meanwhile, they've got a branch of Campisi's, a family-owned italian restaurant based in Dallas.  The food is good and fast.  Take that S'barro, you over-priced italian-themed fast food restaurant.  In addition, there are Cinnabon locations scattered throughout the airport.  Note, eating Cinnabon is bad for your health, but it does smell good and allow me to test my willpower at various points inside and outside the terminal.

If I had to choose between airports, in the Dallas Fort Worth area, I'd definitely choose Love Field.  It's more centrally located to the main areas of Dallas and easy to get in and easy to get out.

Drop off and pick up are easy breezy.
Security is friendly and ticket agents are remarkably quick.
Love the option of checking in electronically, which saves on time.
Lines move before your feet go numb.
Southwest has yet to let me down.
Variety of Food stuff and Starbucks.

Used to fly in and out of  DFW. What was a hot mess of crowds and painfully-long lines for drop-offs is now all about curbside casual at DAL . Security is what makes Love Field because while they are thorough, they keep peeps moving at a consistently-brisk pace. DAL Airport parking is easier and cheaper than DFW, though a park and fly deal is always the best, and there are plenty of Dallas Love Field Airport hotels to choose from.
