I like this little airport--I honestly think there are better food establishments and gift shops than the Honolulu international airport (and they seem to be open later too. I think I've been there as late at 10 and places were still open.)
To eat, the main court has a CPK express (I know Maui people are happy about that, ) Burger King, Pink Berry yogurt, and Sammy's bar and grill. Prices are high, as one would expect at a Hub (i.e. $11.00 for a meal at the BK lounge...yeeesh.) Starbucks is outside by a few gift shops, (about $2.80 for a tall coffee) by gates 1-16 there is a newsstand that has candies, local snacks, bottled drinks, and reading paraphernalia, and by gates 17+ there is a Hot dog stand .The gift shops, centrally located, sell things such as fresh whole Maui pineapples to take home, clothes, local goodies, and bags. There is a Maui divers Jewelry located by gates 17+.  The fact that you are in Maui makes it an exceptionally happy experience, coming or going. Like everything else here, the Pinkberry-Kahului International airport parking is way expensive - but I don't bother about that, I just get a nice park and fly with one of the lovely OGG airport hotels, and I'm all set.

Grab some pineapples and macadamia nut chocolate delights at the gift store.  If you have extra space, grab some for me.

My favorite thing about this airport is that they almost always have a live Hawaiian Band playing favorite and popular Hawaiian music for everyone to enjoy.  It helps with the long security lines.  Everyone wants to jump up an hula! The security check point was long when we were leaving the island, but we got there super early - so no worries. The TSA people were nice, I got a reassuring "Good job!" after successfully walking through the metal detector.

Damn, I'm good.
