One of the best airports I've been in - clean, large, fairly easy to navigate, lots of good distractions/dining during layovers, fairly priced! (Someone told me it is a law here that the airport has to be priced the same as the rest of Portland/its surroundings. No airport inflation = happy consumer/flyer! That's just Oregon all over, so forward thinking, just so right.) Now if only their starbucks would stay open later for those late flights coming in..

This airport is pretty big, with quite a bit of dining and shopping options inside. Security was a breeze to get through every time, and I've never been hassled by the staff. Clear signage is everywhere, and I was able to get to my proper gates with no problems.

Huge, huge bonus star for the MAX connection right in the airport. You would be surprised by how many large cities do not have public transportation connections to their airports (I'm looking at you...LAX), and Portland does a great job with this. Free wi-fi is another plus, along with clean restrooms. It doesn't get much better than PDX.

It doesn't matter how many airports I've been to, PDX international airport is still my favorite. I like  the free wifi, the laid back atmosphere, the friendly staff..

The long security line can be a bit nuisance. There are two ways to get into security. The D gate is always less traffic and you can do a walk around to the other more popular gate once you are inside.

The Max doesn't run after 12am. You can opt for a taxi or park your car in the Portland International Airport parking lot, or do what I do and book a park and fly so you can save a fortune on the whole parking deal, like I do.

Overall, maneuvering around the PDX airport is a breeze, and PDX has got the relaxed and friendly vibe that just upgrades your whole trip experience.
