It's a bit of a drive if you live on the south side - however, well worth the etra 15 minutes it takes to drive there. Newport News - Williamsburg Intenational Airport Parking is a few dollars cheaper per day than Norfolk International Airport Parking. There's also a small bar right in the center of boarding area. Perfect for passing time while waiting for your flight.There is no free WiFi at Newport News but it is available if you want to pay for it.

One note of caution: they do have a bar with a full-kitchen pre-security, but food choices are limited to a snack bar when in the gate area. Best to be prepared with something from elsewhere to eat should you get hungry before or during your flight. It's small, but easy to navigate. Security check-in is a breeze, and the TSA staff is unusually friendly - a nice touch. Rental cars are located in the parking garage, so it's just a quick walk and you can be on I-64 in five minutes.

None of the power outlets in my area worked, and amenities are scarce. But there are recycling bins next to every trash can. Somene called this a Fischer Price Airport, and that is true on both the good and the bad sense.

If you have an early flight, you can watch the sunrise through the big, floor-to-ceiling windows by Gate 6.

Recommended, but check to see if ORF (Norfolk) is the best flight deal/cost.
