Richmond International has clearly been well thought out by its designers. To begin with, there are legit food options on either side of security.  A lot of smaller airports have one or the other and I don't like having to guess if I need to grab real food before going through security.  They have a coffee place on each side as well.
- free wifi.  easy to get on free wifi is always a huge bonus.
-easy rental car pick-up and return.  You don't have to shuttle out to a rental parking lot- it's literally steps away from baggage claim. In addition, there are gas stations right outside the airport for easy filling up prior to returning a rental car.  I'm never scrambling to find a fill-up location or adding 10-20minutes to my travel time by having to go out of my way to fill up on the way to the airport- very easy.
-over-staffed security area.  I've never had to wait in a line at security.  It's always moving swiftly and has plenty of screeners to keep it going. Unfortunately, they have the [porn] body scanners and they make all security lines go through them. Thanks for the cancer, have a nice day.

Richmond Airport parking is available free for 1 hour, which is nice, then customarily overpriced after that. There's a cell phone waiting lot, and those things are very nice. You also have a wide selection of Richmond airport hotels nearby. Overall, I'm a big fan of tiny airports that do it right and Richmond's one of them.
