Syracuse Hancock  is a tiny airport that serves as a feeder to the hubs of major airlines which causes very limited flight scheduling options. Just try to get from Syracuse to ( name your destination) without having to have a connecting flight in Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Newark etc... you get the idea. I really just needed to fly to Hartford, but apparently flying from this airport, I have to fly to Philadelphia and then back north to my final destination. They don't have any food outside of security. It's small enough to only have 2 terminals so you really can't get lost .

Late at night, it's less than 10 minutes from the airplane to the curb, and baggage is pretty quick as well. The Syracuse Hancock International Airport Parking is right there in the middle of the layout, and the rates are not especially expensive.

JetBlue flies here, which is a good way to get to JFK and a bunch of connections. There's also United Shuttle to DC. Plan on a connecting flight.

Amazingly bad public transit. Plan on getting picked up or booking a taxi inside. Taxis are zone fares and can be absurdly expensive. By now you know I opt for a nice park and fly package, and so goodbye to all that other nonsense.

I recognize that an expansion and renovation project is underway but I can't speculate about possible improvements. For now, you have to pass through the TSA security and then sit down at your gate. Nearby, the one food vendor allows you to  inhale the greasy odor of the one concession stand that sells food. You have no choice and there are just a few SYR International Airport Hotels nearby. But if its quick and dirty you want, (and I mean not clean) then you'll be in and out in no time.
