Wilkes Barre International Airport

AVP - International?

With about 5 gates or so in all, Im not exactly sure how AVP is an international airport, or even what AVP can possibly stand for (Ahm Very Petite?), Wilkes Barre - pronounced Wilks Berry - airport has got its drawbacks. Top of the list is no noshies after check-in, so bring some food. The rental car pickup area is not covered, so you will be soaked if it rains or snows, which it will. The Wilkes Barre International Airport parking is just way too far away, so thats another opportunity to get some famously reliable northeast Pennsylvania precipitation on you. As I have mentioned, AVP is very small and so the limited flight options translate into more expensive flight tickets. You could get a park and fly, if someone can find you an AVP airport hotel; I didn't see any. Does Millstone Motel count?

Now, if you still care, there's free wifi. AVP is bright and clean and easy to navigate (but so is my living room). At least the security lines are pretty quick, which is good because the agents here are rude. Any questions?
